What is involved when we install an Air Conditioner?

After we've worked together on the best system for your heating and cooling needs we obviously need to get it installed for you! Or maybe you have already got the unit purchased and we are assisting with the install stage, whatever the case may be we perform several crucial tasks to ensure the system operates efficiently and safely. Here’s a detailed overview of what we might typically do during the installation process:

1. Site Assessment and Planning

We assesses the area(s) where the units will be installed. This includes evaluating the size and space. During the design process we would have factored this in to ensure the appropriate capacity unit. If you are installing a ducted unit we will have worked out the best way to get any old duct out and new duct in and where the vents will go.

2. Installation of Components:

Outdoor Unit: We install the outdoor unit outside; typically on a concrete pad, sturdy surface or on brackets. We make sure it is level and properly secured.

The indoor unit is installed inside in an agreed upon location where air distribution is optimal. If required duct work is also installed and vents cut.

3. Refrigerant Handling:

We handle refrigerant carefully, ensuring proper connections and charging according to manufacturer specifications. This involves using gauges and tools to measure and regulate the amount of refrigerant in the system.

4. Electrical Connections:

Are required between the indoor and outdoor units, including wiring the thermostat and ensuring all connections are secure and follow our licencing. If power is required to the outdoor units we can organise an electrician to do this or clients can source their own. *Did you know that unless you have an electrical licence; refrigeration mechanics only hold a restricted electrical licence to wire the units not wire power.

5. Testing and Calibration:

After installation we will test the entire system to ensure it functions correctly. This includes checking for proper airflow, verifying thermostat operation and confirming the air conditioner provides adequate heating and cooling. â€‹

6. Handover

We will make sure you know how to operate and maintain your new air conditioner. and how to troubleshoot any common issues that may arise. We can even schedule regular maintenances for you. You will have all the necessary paperwork for warranty and compliance. â€‹
